About us
The SPM Programme focuses on the interface between Mathematics and Physics.
It aims to create and organize a scientific community beyond historical departmental boundaries inside PSL, and to foster cross fertilizations among Mathematics and Physics.
The Programme has a funding of 2M€, for five years. It has started in January 2025, and aims to hire approximately six postdoctoral positions of three years and doctoral students.
The Programme unites leading researchers in mathematics and statistical physics, establishing PSL as a world-class hub for the study of fluctuations in complex systems.

The Major research programme 'Statistical Physics and Mathematics' is awarding two Junior Research Chairs.

The SPM program is supported by Université PSL and involves laboratories affiliated with two of its member institutions: CEREMADE (Center for Research in Decision Mathematics) at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL, and the Département de Mathématiques et Applications (DMA), and the Laboratoire de Physique de l'Ecole normale supérieure (LPENS).
