About us
The SPM Programme focuses on the interface between Mathematics and Physics.
It aims to create and organize a scientific community beyond historical departmental boundaries inside Université PSL, and to foster cross fertilizations among Mathematics and Physics.
The Programme has a funding of 2M€, for five years. It has started in January 2025, and aims to hire approximately six postdoctoral positions of three years and doctoral students.
The Major Research Programme Statistical Physics and Mathematics unites leading researchers in mathematics and statistical physics, establishing Université PSL as a world-class hub for the study of fluctuations in complex systems.
SPM call for applications
The Programme 'Statistical Physics and Mathematics' has closed its call for applications for the two Junior Research Chairs 2026.
Results will be published mid-January 2026.
Members and Partners
The SPM program is supported by Université PSL and involves laboratories affiliated with two of its member institutions: CEREMADE (Center for Research in Decision Mathematics) at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL, and the Département de Mathématiques et Applications (DMA), and the Laboratoire de Physique de l'Ecole normale supérieure (LPENS).
